The "Sardine Festival" is a popular celebration organized by the Municipality of Preveza on the first Saturday of August at the Castle of Saint Andrew. It is a major event for the entire area, drawing large crowds to Preveza. Freshly grilled sardines are offered, accompanied by plenty of wine, dancing, and singing.
Early in the morning on Holy Saturday, crowds of people, both locals and foreign visitors, gather at Saitan Pazar and the main pedestrian street of the city to closely observe the tradition that characterizes Easter in the city, the Botia of the First Resurrection.
The Preveza Jazz Festival was first organized in 2003. It began modestly, primarily with Greek participants, and has managed to host the most promising names in European jazz and beyond. In 2004, it became affiliated with the corresponding European Jazz Festival of Athens, which features artists from around 20 European countries and is held under the auspices of the embassies and institutes of these countries.
It takes place during the last week of May on the Preveza waterfront, with the city’s harbor and numerous tourist boats as a backdrop.
The events of the Preveza Carnival start with a celebration for children.
Next is the parade of the Women of Preveza, who continue a tradition of over 60 years with great success.
The "Carnival Committee" of Preveza then takes over the festivities, with hundreds of carnival participants from the surrounding area.
