In the third and final part of our feature, we explore some of the most iconic beaches of the region: from the mystical Ammoudia and the bright Lichnos, to the fairytale town of Parga, the long sandy Valtos, and the peaceful Sarakiniko.
An epilogue full of images, scents, and colors from the most vibrant side of Preveza.

Ammoudia is a beach unlike any other, as it lies exactly where the mythical Acheron River flows into the Ionian Sea. The beach is wide, with golden sand and shallow waters, making it ideal for families and for those who prefer a quieter swim. The presence of the river next to the sea creates a rare landscape for Epirus – a watery world that blends legends, nature, and relaxation.
The village of Ammoudia stretches along the coast, with fish tavernas, cafés, and boat rental spots for trips along the Acheron, offering an experience beyond the classic idea of a beach. Here, everything seems to flow with the rhythm of the river – slow, calm, and genuine.

Lichnos Beach is located just a few kilometers before Parga and is one of the area’s most beloved destinations. Surrounded by rocky formations and lush olive groves, it offers a setting that shifts between exotic tranquility and lively energy.
The waters are crystal clear, with a vivid turquoise-green color and quite deep, making the beach popular among snorkeling enthusiasts. Lichnos is organized, with options for food and coffee, yet it never loses the natural charm that defines it. Here you can enjoy a day by the sea without noise, but with everything you need.

Kryoneri is the most central beach of Parga, lying literally at the foot of the town. Small in size but full of energy, it attracts all ages with its calm, shallow waters and the unique view of the little islet of Panagia, standing just a few meters from the shore. Surrounded by tavernas, cafés, and cobbled alleys, it feels like the beach is a natural extension of the town itself.
Just a little further, behind the low rocks, lies Piso Kryoneri – a smaller, more secluded beach. With pebbles, clean and deeper waters, it offers peace and a different experience for those who want moments of relaxation close to, yet away from, the liveliness of the town.
Together, these two beaches create the most iconic seaside image of Parga: cosmopolitan yet romantic, picturesque yet lively.

Valtos is one of the most impressive and longest beaches in the region of Preveza – a wide stretch of sand lying beneath the Venetian Castle of Parga, blending natural beauty with historical depth. The view of the castle from the beach creates a cinematic backdrop that is hard to forget.
The beach has fine sand, clear and relatively deep waters, and is fully organized with beach bars, restaurants, water sports, and all kinds of amenities. Although popular and lively, Valtos is large enough for everyone to find their own space.
Here, cosmopolitan vibes meet nature, and the swimming experience is enriched with uniquely beautiful views – whether you’re watching the boats crossing the bay or walking up to the castle with the Ionian Sea as your backdrop.

Sarakiniko is a quiet and picturesque beach located just outside Parga, offering a small paradise away from the crowds. It is characterized by fine sand and crystal-clear, shallow waters, ideal for families and for those seeking peace and relaxation.
The beach is surrounded by dense greenery and olive groves, offering natural shade and coolness on hot summer days. The lack of heavy organization keeps it unspoiled, preserving a strong sense of authenticity and simplicity.
In Sarakiniko, the sea meets nature in perfect harmony, offering moments of peace and relaxation away from the crowds.
