A Two-Day Celebration of Greek Sounds in Preveza
On Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29, the “ICHOKROMATA CHOIR” of Preveza is organizing the Choral Festival of Greek Music titled *“16th Musical Maïstralia”*, under the auspices of the Region of Epirus and the Municipality of Preveza, with the support of the Holy Metropolis of Nikopolis and Preveza.
This year, the festival will take place at Androutsos Square and will begin at 9:00 p.m. on both days.
Once again this year, choirs from various parts of Greece will fill the air with voices and melodies from the Greek music repertoire, offering Greek audiences a chance to reminisce and foreign visitors the opportunity to discover some of the most beautiful Greek songs. These musical experiences help preserve and cultivate a love for Greek music in an environment often overwhelmed by foreign lyrics and sounds. At the same time, international visitors are introduced to Greek music and may go on to become ambassadors of it beyond Greece’s borders.
At the “16th Musical Maïstralia”, in addition to the “ICHOKROMATA of Preveza”, the following choirs will also participate:
1. Choir of the Cultural Association of Customs Brokers, Municipality of Alimos
2. Volos Choir
3. Choral Workshop of Nafplio
4. Polyphonic Choir of Chalkida
5. Polyphonic Choir of the Varvouteio Municipal Conservatory of Ptolemaida
6. “Ionia Aidon” Choir, Heraklion, Crete
7. Municipal Choir of Giannitsa
8. Choir of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Ioannina
