Some beaches make you stop for a moment and simply look around in silence. Monolithi Beach is exactly that kind of place: vast, open, free. It’s located about 16 kilometers from Preveza, and the drive takes around 20 minutes. If you prefer cycling, you’ll be there in roughly 45 minutes…
It is the most renowned beach in the region, stretching for approximately 25 kilometers, making it one of the longest sandy beaches in the European Union.

Its expanse stretches from the village of Mytikas to the village of Kastrosykia in the Municipality of Preveza.

Monolithi offers both organized and unorganized sections. In the organized areas, you’ll find sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bars with coffee, snacks, and cocktails, as well as showers and restrooms. A lifeguard is present during certain periods in the summer, especially near the busier entrances. The quieter parts of the beach, however, remain completely natural—with nothing to interrupt your tranquility.
For food, the greater Monolithi area offers plenty of options, as it borders the village of Mytikas. There are tavernas serving fresh fish at reasonable prices, with friendly service and the warm smiles so often found in Epirus.
Monolithi is the beach of freedom: wide open, without limits—ideal for those who love space, silence, and the grandeur of simplicity.
