When you find yourself in the lush pine forest surrounding Alonaki Fanariou Beach, you’ll be convinced you’ve discovered yet another one of Parga’s finest beaches. Sheltered from the wind and featuring shallow waters in the most beautiful shade of blue, it offers the ultimate summer relaxation.
Alonaki Bay is located next to the beach known as “Skala of Odysseus.” You’ll reach the beach after descending a dirt path scattered with steps.
The view as you first behold the beach is enchanting.
Alonaki Fanariou in Preveza is one of the most beautiful beaches in Epirus. Hidden in a lush landscape of unique beauty, it truly is a secret paradise worth discovering!
If you want to escape the bustling spots and find a small corner with character, then Alonaki Fanariou is an excellent choice. It’s about 45 kilometers from the center of Preveza, and it takes roughly 50 minutes by car to get there.
The beach is located in a more secluded area near Parga, and you’ll need to walk a short distance at the end of the road to reach it—but the view at the end is well worth it.
Alonaki is a small, charming beach tucked between rocks and pine trees. The sand is fine and dark, mixed with small pebbles, and its waters are clear, ranging from turquoise to deep blue depending on the daylight. The depth starts shallow near the shore and deepens relatively quickly, so it’s something to watch out for if you have young children with you.
Here you’ll find a few sunbeds and a beach bar. It’s a beach for those who love nature, tranquility, and authenticity. Make sure to bring water, snacks, an umbrella, and anything else you might need.
For accommodation, you can stay in guesthouses or small hotels in the Fanari or Parga area, which is about 15 kilometers away. There are also rooms available near Ammoudia Beach.
For food, it’s recommended to stop in Ammoudia or Mesopotamos, where you’ll find family-run tavernas serving fresh fish, dolmades, and traditional dishes from Epirus. Cafés along the way are also a great choice—perfect for a quick coffee or ice cream after your swim.
Just a short distance away, about 10 kilometers, lies the Necromanteion of Acheron—an archaeological site rich in energy and intrigue, renowned for the mythology surrounding it. A little further, you can visit the springs of the Acheron River and enjoy boating or hiking along its banks.
